This administration is the worst farmer I've ever seen.
First, we find some "bad apples" causing problems in Abu Ghraib. With the low-level "bad apples" removed, we could again be proud of our harve...
Dammit. It appears that we accidentally shipped a method of creating bad apples to Afghanistan.
Now it appears that an Australian news crew not only kicked over the apple barrel, but exposed that we cannot keep blaming the apples when the tree produces poison fruit.
It's been over a year since it was announced that
the Pentagon has tapes of US soldiers sodomizing children at Abu Graib. Of course, most of our citizenry does not know of these horrors.
I'm just too disgusted to comment on this, so I'll let it speak for itself:
US soldiers in Afghanistan burnt the bodies of dead Taliban and taunted their opponents about the corpses, in an act deeply offensive to Muslims and in breach of the Geneva conventions.
An investigation by SBS's Dateline program, to be aired tonight, filmed the burning of the bodies.
It also filmed a US Army psychological operations unit broadcasting a message boasting of the burnt corpses into a village believed to be harbouring Taliban.
This is just flat-out disgusting. Consider that when this airs, all the world will see this as how the US conducts war - taking the lowest road as fast as possible. Will this videotape find it's way onto US television? I seriously doubt it.
Eventually, you reap what you sow. We are seeing the approach of this with the onset of Fitzmas this week here at home. But how long will it take for the Golden Rule to apply to our servicemen worldwide?
If this does get US exposure, expect to see more low-level military personnel facing court martials for doing what they're told. At least in jail they won't get billed for serving, like injured servicemen have.
Damn them all for this bullshit they've created.
